Foundation DogIQ
Since the beginning of 2007 Association Good Dog closes its 3-year activity, merging with Foundation Dog'IQ from Katowice.
Foundation Dog'IQ is a non-profit organization, who trains assistance dogs for disabled.
Foundation DOG’IQ started its activities in 2004 as a consequence of International Program called “IDOL” (Inclusion of Disabled in Open Labour Market). One of its main aims was to create a fully professional education process for assistance dogs trainers in Poland. Within the same program, there was created an international wortal about assistance dogs.
Foundation Dog'IQ is a member of Assistance Dogs Europe. ADEu is dedicated to support the work of assistance dog organisations across the whole Europe. The organisation also encompasses the work of Animal Assisted Activity, Education and Therapy Programmes (AAA, AAE and AAT).
As a member of ADEu, Foundation takes part in developing and elaborating of European standards of assistance dogs.
Assistance dog is a dog which has been trained, assessed and accredited to give assistance to a person with a disability. Guide dogs, hearing dogs, service dogs and seizure response/alert dogs are all examples of assistance dogs.
Who can apply for assistance dog?Person applying for assistance dog must be at the age of 16.

Assistance Dogs
Service dog
a dog that has been trained to assist a person who has a physical disability.
Guide Dog
a dog that has been trained to guide a person who is blind or visually impaired. In many organisations these may be known as "seeing eye dogs".
Hearing dog
a dog that has been trained to indicate household sounds to a person who is deaf, deafened or hard of hearing. In many organisations these may be known as "hearing ear dogs".

Seizure alert/respond dog
a dog which has been trained to give advance warning of a seizure or other medical conditions such as hypoglycaemia.
